Ilya Serov

Jazz standards never go out of style. Today, this timeless musical genre is benefiting from an array of gifted young artists who bring an infusion of imagination, vision and energy to the many shades of America’s original musical art form. Ilya Serov is one such artist — with an unusual twist. He’s a Russian-American award-winning trumpeter-singer-band leader, yet he possesses both the chops and the charisma to help spark the American jazz renaissance. Although he’s smack dab in the midst of millennial-hood, Ilya’s passion is for vintage classics, inspired by such seminal artists as Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra.

Pop Up Arts & Music Festival

As the name suggests, the festival will feature “pop-up” public performances and activities at a variety of locations throughout Thousand Oaks. The primary goal of the festival is to provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to actively participate in and enjoy the arts in unexpected and distinctive locations throughout the community. These sites will include small neighborhood parks, historical sites, the California Lutheran University campus, and the Oaks Mall.

The Festival will feature eight free events over three weekends from June 15-30, 2018. In partnership with local arts organizations, the festival will include local and regional artistic talent, in addition to nationally recognized performing artists.
