This music has become an anthem and has been performed around the world to signify change. Michael Christie interviewed documentary filmmaker Kerry Candaele whose film “Following the 9th” plays homages to how Beethoven’s masterwork has inspired generations, including Bernstein’s legendary performance of the symphony in Berlin after the wall fell.
