While staying at home, members of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra joined together (virtually) in the most creative rendition of the finale of Beethoven’s Ninth we’ve seen in a long time.
We always need music, but we especially need it during troubled times. Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, in fact, has been an anthem of unity and protest in some dark times, from Chile to China, Japan to Germany. With a melody a child can sing, few pieces of music have inspired and united the world.
