FAQS
What is a New West Symphony membership?
Membership means joining a community that supports the New West Symphony’s performances and music education programs. It keeps orchestral music thriving in our region and ensures audiences of all ages can enjoy unforgettable performances close to home.
What are the membership levels and entry fees?
Platinum: $600
Gold: $400
Silver: $300

Family: $200 (Designed for a Family with Children Under the Age of 18)
What are the benefits of membership?
Each membership includes a set of membership tickets at a set rate, discounts on additional tickets, exclusive membership events, local business incentives, and member support.
How does concert access work?
Each membership comes with an allotment of membership tickets that may be redeemed for tickets to performances throughout our concert season. Members reserve seats in advance at a discounted price of $20 per ticket. Seats are reserved when a member chooses a performance to attend and contacts the New West Symphony to purchase tickets. Members may purchase tickets in any combination during the Symphony's six-concert season, subject to availability.
For example, a member may purchase one ticket at a time and attend all six concerts, purchase multiple tickets for one performance with friends or family, or any combination in between.
Additional tickets may be purchased at the single ticket rate minus the discount associated with each membership level. For example, Gold members receive a 10% discount on additional tickets.
Membership tickets do not accumulate or roll over from year to year. Unused membership tickets expire at your membership anniversary.
How do I redeem a membership ticket for a reserved seat?
New West Symphony has a dedicated membership concierge who will assist with seat selection and answer questions about membership benefits.
Our membership concierge’s direct phone number is (805) 435-2787. The office phone number is (866) 776-8400. Membership inquires may be sent to membership@newwestsymphony.org
Do members get the same seats for every concert they attend?
Only subscribers are guaranteed the same seats for every concert. Members who purchase tickets early may be able to reserve the same seats for concerts, but this is not guaranteed.
Members have the flexibility to move around the theatre and experience how the orchestra sounds from different seating locations.
Do members receive free tickets?
No. Membership does not include free tickets. Members purchase membership tickets only when they plan to attend a concert.
Do members have to attend all six concerts?
No. Members may purchase membership tickets for as many or as few concerts as they choose. There is no obligation to purchase any tickets.
How is seating assigned?
Seating is based on membership level, reservation date, and availability at the time of booking. Seating areas correspond to membership levels.

May I purchase membership for either Thousand Oaks or Camarillo performances?
Due to venue capacity, memberships at Camarillo are limited to fifty (50) memberships during the inaugural year. However, members may purchase membership tickets for either venue as available.
May I purchase multiple memberships?
Yes. Individuals may purchase multiple memberships for their household, friends, or family.
For example, Jane Doe purchased two memberships under her name for herself and her partner since she prefers to keep all contact information under one account.
What is the NextGen membership?
NextGen memberships are designed for students and emerging professionals, as an affordable way to engage with the Symphony while enjoying the same flexible access model. Special experiences for NextGen are tailored around hosted networking and social events.
What is the Family membership?
Family memberships support multi-generational engagement with the Symphony and provide flexible access for households attending together. It is designed for a family with children under the age of eighteen.
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. Members receive a confirmation email for their initial membership payment, and a separate confirmation email when membership tickets are redeemed.
When does my membership expire?
Memberships are valid for one year and expire the day before the renewal date. For example, if Jane Doe purchased a Platinum membership on January 31, 2026, her membership will be valid through January 30, 2027.
Can I upgrade my membership?
Yes. Members may upgrade their membership level at any time during the season. Benefits are adjusted based on the new level. Contact our membership concierge at (805) 435-2787.
Is my membership tax-deductible?
Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted under applicable federal and California law; donors are advised to consult their tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any contribution.
For example, Jane Doe purchased a Silver Membership for $300, which included the right to purchase up to six Orchestra tickets at a discounted price of $20 per ticket. The fair market value of each Orchestra Right ticket is $75. Based on the purchase of six tickets, the total value of those tickets is $450. Because the value of goods and services exceeds the amount paid for the membership, no portion of the $300 membership fee is tax-deductible for federal or California income tax purposes.
I am a current subscriber, how does membership impact me?
We are excited to offer member benefits to patrons who have subscribed by January 23, 2026, as an inaugural program gift to you. We hope you enjoy the membership benefits to local businesses and member-exclusive events as they roll out throughout the year.
Why choose membership instead of buying single tickets or a subscription?
Membership offers greater flexibility, membership concierge seating, access to member exclusive events, and a meaningful way to support the Symphony’s mission. Additionally, membership offers savings compared to purchasing single tickets.
