The Ukrainian dance ensemble “Chervona Kalyna” was founded in 1997. The mission of the ensemble is to introduce and popularize Ukrainian culture and traditions for the benefit of the community at large. In addition to education, “Chervona Kalyna” actively participates in various international festivals and concerts and in charity events supporting Ukrainians in this challenging time. The leader of the ensemble, Asya Gorska is a Ukrainian-born singer and choreographer. Born in Mykolaiv, Asya is an actress, a social worker, director, program coordinator and community activist. Other ensemble members include Mukola Marchenko, Yulia Tymoshenko, Andrew Samartcev Svitlana Selska, Roman Karol and Oksana Varlan. For the performances with the New West Symphony, “Chervona Kalyna” partnered with Anastasiia Rodina, classical dancer who graduated from Serge Lifar Dance Academy in Kyiv.

Chervona Kalyna will be featured in traditional dances called “Welcome Dance” and “Turning Dance”. Anastasiia will join the orchestra and Los Robles Children’s Chorus in presentation of “Carol of the Bells.”
