California Contemporary Ballet
California Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet), is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit company, founded by Aerin Holt, the company’s visionary choreographer and Artistic Director. Based in La Canada Flintridge, just outside of Los Angeles, California Contemporary Ballet has been working with the surrounding communities’ dancers for nearly 30 years. Our company began as a pre-professional youth ballet troupe in 1996 and was known as Dance Street Performers. After many experiences on stage locally in Southern California and abroad, in 2008, the company re-established itself as a professional repertory company, known today as California Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet).
CCBallet is one of Southern California’s burgeoning dance companies featuring a unique choreographic blend of classical, contemporary and theatrical dance works. The company often presents the works of original music by guest and resident composers, costume designers, theater lighting designers and guest talent. CCBallet provides its dancers with the opportunity to perform an exciting repertoire of innovative and original dance projects performed in concerts, theater and festivals throughout Southern California.
CCBallet continues to offer opportunities for talented young dancers by providing a youth company division within its organization, California Contemporary Youth Ballet (CCYBallet).
