Now, more than ever, we need moments that make us smile and appreciate the power of community. Few things fit that bill more than music, and especially when it involves illuminating the joy of music with children.

Earlier this month we were forced to postpone our annual Laby Harmony Luncheon, but that doesn’t mean that we need to postpone sharing the joy of Harmony with you. After all, the word itself means “an internal calm or tranquility.” And wouldn’t that be nice right about now?

Here is a short video that shows the incredible impact our Harmony program is having on K-12 students in underserved communities in Ventura.

Thanks to generous donors and volunteers, the Laby Harmony Project is able to provide free, year-round music instructions to more than 150 students from eight different schools and fund 10 teaching artists We are presently graduating our first group of seniors and have a growing waiting list of students that are eager to join the fun. If you are in a position to make a special gift during these extraordinary times, we and the students of Harmony would be greatly appreciative. You can click here to make a gift.

Please take good care of yourselves and your health, and that of your families. We will continue to share with you the uplifting power of music and the joy it can bring during these difficult times. And we look forward to seeing you and your family soon.
