Wendy Velasco, New West Symphony assistant principal cellist, loves the cello’s unique voice. Today she reps Team Strings and shares a musical moment where the strings shine.

 

 

Rossini, the master melody maker, wrote what is perhaps the most famous piece of classical music: the William Tell Overture. But let’s back up to the beginning where the baritone member of the strings section, the cello, gets a chance to really sing.
