New West Symphony Music Director Michael Christie led the most recent production of Ricky Ian Gordon and Michael Korie’s operatic telling of The Grapes of Wrath at the Michigan Opera Theatre in Detroit, MI a year ago.
80 years ago today, John Steinbeck was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his iconic novel telling one of the most important American stories. In this opera adaptation, Gordon and Korie have labored to preserve and translate the epic into a powerful stage experience.
