New West Symphony and Ama Waterways Taste of Bordeaux Cruise Raffle Terms and Conditions
Offer is based on availability and is valid for one 7-night cruise in a Category A stateroom, based on double occupancy. Cruise is valid on select Taste of Bordeaux itineraries in 2019 or 2020. Complimentary stateroom must be booked within 60 days of embarkation. Land program, stateroom upgrades, transfers and flights may be purchased at an additional cost and will be subject to the AmaWaterways cancellation policy; please ask for details. Port charges (2019: $182 per person; 2020: $189 per person) are to be paid by certificate winner. Gratuities and onboard incidentals are not included and are the responsibility of the passenger(s). The cruise certificate is not exchangeable against other cruises; offer is not combinable with any other promotions and/or discounts; certificate is non-transferable and has no cash value. When you redeem the cruise, you will send a copy of the cruise certificate along with your complete contact information via email to AmaWaterways. You are asked to provide up to three cruise choices in order of preference. Should all 3 choices be unavailable, AmaWaterways will suggest an alternative cruise date based on the same specifications. The winner will be issued a Form 1099 and will be responsible for any income taxes.
Only 200 tickets will be sold for this raffle. The Symphony plans to hold the raffle drawing on December 6, 2019. This date depends on all 200 tickets being sold by that date.
All entry purchases are final and non-refundable.
Entry purchases are not tax deductible as a charitable contribution. The IRS considers a raffle ticket to be a contribution from which you benefit. If you receive a benefit from making a donation, you can only deduct the amount of your donation that is greater than the value of the benefit you receive. The IRS explicitly prohibits deducting the cost of raffle tickets as a charitable contribution, presumably because it does not consider the cost of the ticket to be greater than its benefit.
The winner of the raffle will be determined by random drawing on December 6, 2019 in Thousand Oaks, California. This information will also be announced on the website at www.newwestsymphony.org. Winner does not need to be present to win and will be contacted via the phone number and/or email address entered on the registration form. If time and place is changed, all purchasers will be notified electronically, telephonically or in writing.
The winner of the raffle must claim the prize within 14 days of the drawing. If the winner does not claim the prize within 14 days of the drawing, by responding to electronic, telephonic or written notice from the New West Symphony, the prize will be forfeited and a new winner drawn.
After the prize is claimed, winner must abide by any restrictions or regulations placed on the prize by AmaWaterways.
Purchasers of tickets, by participating in the raffle, release the New West Symphony Association, its directors, officers, members and agents from any and all liability, loss or claim arising out of any raffle prize, expressly waive any such claim and agree that the liability, if any, shall be limited to the raffle ticket price paid.
All disputes, claims and controversies concerning this raffle shall be submitted to and resolved by binding arbitration, to be conducted under arbitration rules in the state of California.
Prize is not redeemable for cash.
Winner(s) agree to comply with all IRS regulations regarding raffle winnings. The winner agrees to furnish the New West Symphony with his/her social security number, verify his/her identity, and sign all required IRS documents if necessary before claiming the prize.
Winner(s) agree to allow New West Symphony to publish their names and photographs.
