At our January concert, Happy 250th, Beethoven, we enjoyed Jennifer Higdon’s gorgeous piece Pale Yellow, performed by the Eroica Trio. In case you missed it, be sure you give it a listen below:

New West Symphony sends our congratulations to Jennifer, because a recording of her Percussion Symphony was included in the Library of Congress as an “aural treasure worthy of preservation because of their cultural, historical and aesthetic importance to the nation’s recorded sound heritage.” Specifically, it was the 2008 recording with Colin Curie as soloist and Marin Alsop conducting the London Philharmonic. That recording available for purchase here.

Watch another great performance, this one performed by Cameron Leach with the Eastman Wind Ensemble:

Tell us what contemporary works you’re enjoying and that you think the Symphony should perform!
