The clarinet can be an easy instrument to get along with. Okay, maybe more for the listener than the performer. They have such a bright, friendly, and open tone that charms our socks off. And that makes for amazingly clear melodies and tight harmonies.

New West Symphony principal clarinet Joshua Ranz knows all about it – not only does he perform in the concert hall, but he also records his own arrangements of all kind of music for just clarinet! Watch his rendition of “St. Anthony of Padua’s Sermon to the Fish” from Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn for clarinet quartet!
