The New West Symphony Invites You to "Meet the Maestro April 9

(THOUSAND OAKS) – March 21, 2017 -- As part of its highly-acclaimed “Meet the Maestros” series, local residents are invited to meet renowned conductor Kynan Johns in an intimate and private setting on Sunday, April 9.  This exclusive event at a private home offers attendees an opportunity to take photos of the conductor, ask questions, mingle with Symphony patrons and enjoy a special musical presentation by New West Symphony musicians.

Resident Conductor to Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta at the new Palau de les Arts "Reina Sofia" in Valencia, Spain (2006-2011), Johns has earned much critical acclaim throughout Europe, Australia, Israel and America. Since sweeping into prominence in 2004 when he conducted the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in performances of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, Johns has conducted orchestras and opera companies throughout the world and is regarded as a leading conductor of the younger generation.

Johns will be conducting the New West Symphony April 7 in Oxnard and April 8 in Thousand Oaks.  At both performances he will be joined by soprano So Young Park and the California Lutheran University Choral Ensembles for an evening that will include Gloria by Poulenc and Symphonie fantastique by Berlioz.
